As you may have noticed, we set a very low cost to register for the Pierogi 5k. That is meant to encourage participants to also bring a food item which will be donated to City Mission of Schenectady.
City Mission of Schenectady, founded in 1906, is dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. Their ministries seek to comprehensively meet the needs of the poor in a manner that dignifies and strengthens the individual, family, and community.
City Mission’s goal is to provide not only HELP for today, but HOPE for tomorrow. City Mission helps people who are in need right now by meeting basic needs like food, shelter and clothing. In addition, they work to do more than just meet basic needs, but to transform lives.
City Mission does not receive government funding, so our act of charity and support goes a long way to help.
